Our research focuses on the following areas and projects:

Area A concentrates on the essential elements of a vapour-compression cycle, including the compressor, heat exchangers, expansion valve, and control systems, which serve as the primary components of most refrigeration and heat pump systems.

Area B comprises two sub-projects: High-Efficient Cooling and High-Efficient Heating. These sub-projects apply innovative components from Area A to home appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, and others that require cooling or heating.

Area C includes Vision & Strategy, Sustainability and Advanced Technologies, which concentrate on strategic research aimed at enhancing sustainability and technological capabilities at both the component and system levels. The strategic projects play a critical role in realising the long-term objectives of the participating organisations such as reducing their carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, and minimising waste.
